Reading is like a therapy to me. It helps to relieve me from stress and boost my mind.

I had a break from the reading few years back but now, have picked up the pace and have manifested to read atleast 15-25 books per year. This year I decided to give a track to my reading passion; writing book reviews in exchange of books and uplift my creativity of writing. The motive behind it is to give a new direction to my reading helping me to boost positivity in life.

Now lets talk about the last 4 books I read. The theme of this year for me was Japanese/Korean Literature; The series " Before the coffee gets cold" being the attentive to read.

Book 1st : Chetan Bhagat's 12 Years

This is a love story of Saket and Payal with age difference of 12 years between them; Payal being younger than the Saket. The story is a perfect explanation of society's pressure and how we become that easy target for our parents But; your firm commitment and patience towards your love which may take days, months or even years gives you fruitful result of what you have dreamt of.

The 12 Years by Chetan Bhagat is definately a good read. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

The Blogchatter Book of Love is a soulful collection of eighteen stories that capture love in all its forms — romantic, familial, platonic, and patriotic. Written by diverse voices from the Blogchatter community, the anthology explores how love transcends age, distance, and definition. From quiet moments of care to bold acts of devotion, each story reflects the many ways the heart learns, heals, and transforms. Honest and heartfelt, this book celebrates love not as a perfect emotion, but as a deeply human experience — one that connects, challenges, and ultimately completes us.

Book 3rd : Before the Coffee gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

This is the book that me fall in the love of Japanese Translations. Before the Coffee gets Cold by Toshikazu Kawaguchi is a quietly moving tale set in a small Tokyo café where customers can travel back in time — but only for the duration of a single cup of coffee. Through four interlinked stories, people revisit moments of love, regret, and longing, seeking closure or connection that time once denied them. Bound by strict rules and fleeting minutes, each journey reveals that while the past can’t be changed, understanding it can transform the present. Tender, reflective, and deeply human, this novel captures the bittersweet beauty of time, memory, and second chances.

Book 4th : Tales from the Cafe

Sequel to the " Before the Coffee gets Cold", Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi continues Toshikazu Kawaguchi’s tender exploration of time, memory, and love that began in Before the Coffee Gets Cold. Returning to the same Tokyo café where customers can slip briefly into the past, this sequel introduces four new visitors — each burdened by loss, guilt, or unanswered words. As they journey through fleeting moments before their coffee cools, they learn that while the past cannot be changed, it can illuminate the present. Gentle, introspective, and deeply humane, Tales from the Café expands the universe of the café, reminding readers that healing often begins with understanding.
