The time was going slow, sec by sec, min by min, hour by hour. Amay could not control his excitement anymore. He had already packed half of his bag, & the other half was to be done after his shift ends. Although there was not much work today, Amay still decided to check on the noted tasks and complete as many of them as he could before going on vacation.
Amay was doing this solo trip after a couple of years. The last time he did was before getting married; around 2018 to Delhi, Dehradun, Mussorie, and Landour. He missed travelling solo anywhere as much as with his wife after Covid-19. He was fine with everything, yet he badly needed this trip, and finally he got a chance.
Amay is a mountain guy, whereas his wife, Arvika, is a beach person. And on top of that, she was going early to her family's hometown for the function. This was a perfect moment for him to take the solo trip, especially since he had happily received prior permission from his wife. He did all the bookings a month ago. And the day had finally arrived; a few hours to go…
It was a complete weather shift to rainy season with combo offer of winter one; Thanks to the Cyclone - Montha. Amay logged off an hour early & went for the bath. In next 15 mins, his cab had come near his block welcomed along with the rain. ...

If to calm the storm within
the heart & mind or
Just an excuse to get a fresh start..
