I was looking for some stuff in the store room full of items that either we don't use or are of no use. Looking around, I came across a mini suitcase, which was blue in color. It was very familiar to me. I was curious to open it and didn't know that golden moments of childhood with whom I had special memories were awaiting for me to get reintroduced.
As soon as I opened it, the first thing at the top was a letter, a letter I had written in my childhood to myself, a letter full of moments that popped up in front of my eyes. I couldn't stop reading it :
My Dear Childhood,
I love you! I enjoy the full blue blanket over my head with white patches of fluffy cloud.
The summer vacation I spend at Nani's house is my most favorite one. Starting the day by waking up early in the morning, going to the local garden gym, and then coming back and having a hot cup of tea with bun bread or toast while sitting on a cot outside the house are truly amazing moments.
I love the way we friends discovered our secret hideout—the old, rickety treehouse we fondly named “House 007.” It wasn’t magnificent—just a few wooden planks held together and tied by clothes and nails, with a creaky ladder that felt less than safe. Still, it was our sanctuary.
This is our safe haven, where anything is possible and wisdom poured from the stories we created. We scribbled down our escapades in crumpled notebooks, bonding over the unwavering friendship we built within those wooden walls.
Sunset memories make our excitement at par of the world, waiting for the cool light of the moon and stars to start appearing in the dark sky as a ray of hope in the world full of darkness. Remember those late-night adventures? One memorable evening, we snuck out after dark, giggling in delight as we armed ourselves with flashlights.
Remember when we formed our club? Just you, me, and a tight-knit group of friends, united against the rest of the world. Our secret meetings were chaotic—filled with endless chatter as we plotted grand missions. These connections taught us valuable lessons about loyalty, kindness, and the importance of companionship—lessons that resonate well beyond those blissful childhood days.
Childhood is a treasure trove of memories painted with laughter and adventure that stay with us for a lifetime.
Writing this letter reminds me that those times were not merely phases; they act as anchors, guiding us back to simpler joys. The magic of childhood continues to live on in the essence of who we are today.
Now it's time to go to sleep to wake up early and start the Sunday with lots of fun and enjoyment.
With regards,
Bye Bye
And my eyes were flowing with tears of happiness. Moments preserved, memories owned!

It's heartwarming to see how personal stories and experiences are preserved and shared. Your post brought back so many memories! It’s amazing how certain things from childhood stick with us, like the books and stories we grew up with. I loved how you captured that feeling of nostalgia so perfectly (from A Rustic Mind/Manali Desai)
So beautifully penned! The innocence of childhood, Nani’s home and sweet memories associated with it nicely captured in the form of letters.
